Advert Your Gaze

Boring dystopia. Art and advertising. Private and commercial.
Some petrol stations in America now force you to watch an advert before you put gas in your car. How long is it until we have to watch an advert before we answer a phone call?
This project explores how adverting can affect photography. I shot a roll of portraits and rewound the film and shot a series of adverts over the top blurring the line between adverts and portraits. And if Andy Warhol can make commercial art, whats stopping others from plaguing art with brands?
